Flemington Estate, Flemington

Independent Demolition were selected by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) as principle contractor to demolish 12 walk-up, 4-storey buildings, as part of the Public Housing Renewal Program. The work was spread over three stages and included managing service abolishment, asbestos removal and soil remediation. Over 9000 tonne of concrete and 250 tonne of metal were removed and recycled from the site.

The site was in a largely residential area, in close proximity to a school and childcare centre, so our team were involved with community consultations and implementing extensive public protection measures.
